a blood test
dear southdale pediatric nurses:
i am confused because the sign says "walk-in lab," so why the 20 minute wait outside the door? also, call me crazy, but i believe that the first cardinal rule when drawing blood should be to never insult the patient. and i'm pretty sure telling the patient they have "mushy veins" is insulting. to me it seems like a cover up for the fact that you can't get the needle in the right spot the first time. maybe since i am of "legal age" i should stop going to a pediatrician, and go to an adult doctor where said veins aren't all that uncommon. thanks for making me feel self conscious about my veins by calling in another nurse to do your job for you. i appreciate it.
sincerely,
katz
